Sarah Beeny shares a loving snap with her husband Graham Swift

Sarah Beeny has taken to Instagram to share a sweet snap of her husband Graham Swift and their four sons after being given the all-clear following her battle with breast cancer.

The presenter, 51, appeared in a relaxed image with her family shared by filmmaker Louis Watson, who was working with her children’s band The Entitled Sons.

Sarah reposted the snap as a resurfaced interview saw her reflect on her 20-year marriage to husband Graham, admitting that despite their lengthy union they struggle to say I love you to each other.

The couple had a whirlwind romance and moved in together after just two weeks of dating, to the shock of their parents.

In an interview with The Sun in 2021, she said: ‘I look at 18-year-olds now and think, ”God, if they came home and said they were buying a flat together, I would be horrified”.

‘I don’t blame them for feeling that, but it does make me take young people’s relationships more seriously than other people might.’

Sarah and Graham set up their property business Diccon before she landed her defining series Property Ladder in 2001.

But despite a decades-long relationship, Sarah confessed in that interview and she and Graham struggle to profess their love for each other.

She added: ‘When we first met, we joked about people who meet and say the ‘love’ word after two-and-a-half seconds – when they’re only saying it because they want to s**g you. It became a standing joke and as a result, we can’t say it to each other.

‘When he’s not looking though, I tell the kids I love him. And I’ve heard them ask him if he loves mummy. He’s looked at me and said through gritted teeth: ‘Yes, I love your mother very much’. It’s funny.’

The presenter was diagnosed with breast cancer in August last year and in April she revealed she was given the all-clear in an appearance on Lorraine.

She shared the positive news during an emotional interview alongside her two sons Billy, 18, and Raffa, 14.

Speaking to stand-in host Christine Lampard, Sarah shared that she is now cancer-free as she reflected on her ‘rollercoaster’ journey with the disease.

Asking her about her health, Christine said: ‘Just a few days ago you were given the all-clear.

‘I know you’re always going to worry and you’re always going to be aware of your body, but to hear those words at this point is a beautiful thing.’

Sarah then confirmed the good news, saying: ‘It’s good, it’s weird. It’s kind of like they [the doctors] go “that’s it then” and that’s the end of that.

‘And you go “how do you know”, and they say ‘well we don’t, we just think so’. It’s a weird end – you feel like there should be a moment.’

Sarah explained that although she is now cancer-free, she will have to stay on medication for the next ten years and be ‘very vigilant’.

She added: ‘I mean it’s ongoing – I have to take drugs for the next ten years and be very vigilant. But it’s been a weird ride I wouldn’t wish on anyone else.’

Sarah admitted it had been a ‘rollercoaster’ but said she felt ‘fortunate’ for getting her diagnosis when she did as she praised the NHS.

‘It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride,’ she added. ‘But I feel very fortunate that I had the diagnosis that I did, and that I live in 2023 and that I’m the age that I am. So many things I’m fortunate for so I feel very blessed.’
