MasterChef fans left giggling at Greg Wallaces cheeky innuendo as he sendsDiya packing

MasterChef fans were left giggling at Greg Wallace’s cheeky innuendo as he sent contestant Diya Kotecha-Lodhia packing on Friday night’s show.

Following a tough Knockout stage, the cooks hopes of reaching the final were dashed when her onion bhajis failed to impress the judges.

Viewers saw Diya dish up the Indian fritter with a side of two sweet chutneys for starter, followed by an east African curry.

The judges were left ‘underwhelmed’ by her starter and said that her main dish was ‘didn’t quite work’.

But it was Gregg’s accidental innuendo that left fans at home in stitches, when reflecting on the starter he simply said: ‘I found those ball’s really quite salty.’

Sharing their thoughts on Twitter one person wrote: ‘Quote of the series on #MasterChef this evening from Greg Wallace “I found those balls far too salty.” Legend.’

‘Gregg found those balls over salty,’ another giggled.

Someone else posted: ‘Can confirm, Greg Wallace does not like salty balls.’

Another fan echoed: ‘Nothing worse than salty balls Gregg.’

Last week, MasterChef viewers were stunned as fan favourite Forest was given the boot from the competition.

The marketing director, 34, who hailed originally from Hong Kong, impressed both the viewers and the judges earlier in the contest but suffered a series of misfortunes during the quarter final this evening.

He opted to make a savoury dish for the first time but returning winner Thomasina Miers, who was invited to judge this week, was left unimpressed.

Thomasina said Forest’s lobster and cheese sauce were not up to standards, as she called them ‘one dimensional’.

His Eton Mess also failed to impress but viewers think it was Forest’s decision to use packet noodles which made it easy for judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace to send him home, leaving viewers fuming.

Taking to Twitter to express their disappointment at the result, one person wrote: ‘Forest was my winner until today!’

‘Forest only lost because he got his noodles from a packet,’ remarked someone else.

Another viewer posted: ‘One person does packet noodles. One person makes his own noodles. Got to be Forest going surely? Just a really bad choice of two dishes by him.’
