Cate Blanchett was the epitome of elegance on Friday evening as she joined fellow superstars Natalie Portman and Naomi Ackie on the Zone Of Interest red carpet at the 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival.
The Academy Award-winning actress, 54, brought her Hollywood glamour to France in a black-and-white Louis Vuitton dress, with a cape flowing out behind her.
She opted for typically subtle make-up including light blush and a rosy lip, while her platinum tresses were neatly pulled back into a bun.
Her unique ensemble stood out with two sequined silver pockets, allowing her to rest her hands, while a belted waist emphasised her slim frame.
Meanwhile a small slit up the side of her dress added some practical movement while also remaining stylish.

Take on tulle like Natalie in a dress by Dior
When we think of Dior, we think of dreamy tulle dresses.
Natalie Portman donned exactly that earlier today when she made an appearance on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.
The actress has a long-running history with the French fashion house, so we weren’t surprised to see that she gravitated towards an archival piece from the label.
This dress hails from the Fall 2017 Collection. It’s adorned with cascading sequin embellishment, a blue ombre colorway, thin belt detailing and a strapless silhouette. Natalie kept the rest of her look relatively simply, allowing the dress to make a full impact!
Unfortunately, we mere mortals can’t rummage through Dior’s back catalogue, but you can see the designer’s current collection by clicking the runway image.
Alternatively, head to the carousel to shop similar styles from Marchesa Notte, La Femme and more.
She was joined by other A-listers including Natalie Portman, who dazzled in a strapless and glittering ombré Chopard Christian Dior dress.
The Star Wars alum, 41, showed off her taut visage and enviable collarbones in the classy ensemble as she led the stars arriving on the red carpet.
As her dress was strapless, Natalie chose to accessorise with a tear-drop style choker necklace to further emphasise her slender neck.
Next in line was The End Of The F***ing World star Naomi Ackie, 31, who was flawless in Valentino FW23 RTW.
The all-white floaty gown gave her an ethereal look as it was held up merely by a collar in a dress and shirt combination.
Fashion model Carla Bruni, 55, was also present at the glitzy event, choosing a silver mini dress with a sparkling bodice and a metallic skirt with a train.
She put on a very leggy display in the short ensemble, which exposed her toned limbs and added inches to her frame with silver heels.
She radiated beauty as she posed for the cameras but did appear to get caught in her skirt as she attempted to climb the steps.

Her blonde locks were combed back and given a ‘wet’ look for a beachy feel, despite her presence on the red carpet.
As she turned, she revealed a criss-cross pattern over her back, which exposed more of her tanned and smooth skin.
