It’s time for QRIMOLE, the series where readers ask Kpopalypse questions! Let’s take a look at the mailbag for the last month!

Turnaround for the song {Blackpink’s “Jump“} was only 6 weeks, so the whole YG thing of not having regular comebacks is just BS, they can “get the machine rolling” efficiently at any time?
In the case of “Jump” Diplo pretty much had the song already done, and Teddy just grabbed it off the shelf and said “looks good”, then just changed it a little to suit Blackpink, which is generally what happens when big agencies buy songs (SM have done this many times). That’s an entirely different thing to coming up with your own complete song from scratch, which I think is what Teddy usually does. Mind you there’s no reason why writing songs has to take forever, it’s just some people take more time than others due to lack of ideas, writer’s block, or just because they like to take time with it. There’s no set time for the creative process. I write my books slower than Stephen King but faster than James Joyce.
Hi kpopalypse, not sure if you even know the answer to this, but do you remember those declassified CIA files that touched on the agency’s influence on culture (specifically music) in Korea in the 90s? I swear i read a news article about it but cannot find it anywhere.
Also, is real person fanfiction ethical. And can it have artistic merit.
Bye
CIA, I wouldn’t know. I don’t remember anything like that. It’s probably bullshit. People love to talk about the CIA getting involved in music but I think it’s just because they think it’s flattering that the CIA would get involved in their music. I think a lot of conspiracy theories are really about validation.
Real person fanfiction definitely isn’t ethical or artistic, I mean check out my fanfiction which definitely isn’t either one hahahaha. But really though, I don’t see an issue. People have been telling stories about other people ever since stories were invented. The only issue I think is when people try to pass off something as a story that really happened when it’s not, or try to attribute characteristics to a person and then say that those characteristics are definitely, unambiguously, the reality of that person. Steer away from those things and I think anything else is fine.
When you were super broke for a couple years recently, Did you consider doing jack ass things like scalping to sell on ebay children’s cards?
No. I think I’d sooner suck old guy’s dicks at truck stops for a few weeks until my work picked up again. Far more wholesome.
do you like prokovief’s piano concerto no.2 in g minor op.16? to say im addicted to it is an understatement; each note feels like ecstasy. surely this is what they play in heaven
I find it boring tbh. It probably doesn’t help that I had to study this sort of stuff for years. If they play this in heaven just as well I have no chance of getting in.
are there any music cottage industries that you find particular interesting in concept? eg in japan you’ll have musicians signed to film/tv companies and pretty much their entire career is releasing OST songs for animes.
the thought came to me when i watching this performance. the career of this lady and her band Against The Current is largely league of legends songs.
The music industry in general is like this. If people find a niche they can work, they generally consider themselves fortunate and stick to it, because it can be very hard to make a living otherwise.
is this NZ maori comedian’s assessment of casual racism by white australians accurate or no?
Probably. I have no reason to doubt him. Australians are very blunt and open about racism, they don’t tend to hide it. Must say I didn’t understand the meatball insult though.
Your thoughts? I don’t think I could live in USA, the ins and outs of their culture sounds like there’s way too many steps. {link is just the usual thing about tipping culture in the US}
Waiter and customer fighting each other over scraps, meanwhile the bar owner is laughing it up. American businesses can’t be trusted with tipping, it should just be banned completely over there until they learn how to do it properly like in every other country.
How often do you think about the Roman Empire? If not, what’s your “Roman Empire topic” that you regularly think about? Don’t cop out and just say kpop, thanks.
Never, until someone brings it up in a question like this thinking that it’s relevant to me for some weird reason. I am not Romanhistoryalypse. I don’t even know what the “Roman Empire” meme even means. I’m still thinking about the purple-haired guy in N.tic.
Thoughts on their worst song list? {worst songs each year from RateYourMusic}
Some bangers here. Mind you in some years I just don’t think there were that many votes, which explains Psy & Hyuna getting 9/10 and also being the “worst”.
Do you think that a song being sung badly could be better for it? Like in the way that it could be more emotional, serve the song better? Or do you think those who say that is just coping to deal with a song that they want to like? I’ll give an example of Hikaru Utada’s First Love, a song I’ve always been both hot and cold on because of their clearly off key vocals and how clearly amateurish it is at times but when i look at the average cover the prettied up version with the perfect vocals and normally mixed production just doesn’t move me. Is there a musical reason for this?
Neither Hikaru Utada nor Kim Chaewon can sing all that well, it’s just that Chaewon has more modern production behind her voice to hide it. Anyway although I think the song in general is a boring fucking useless ballad that’s the same as 3469873245 others in Asian pop that are just like it, the thing I particularly dislike about Chaewon’s version is that it’s a semitone higher. If anything I think dropping the pitch would have been better, or at least less annoying… not that realistically anything could have saved such a dreary song. I guess also at least with Hikari Utada listening to her not sing very well is kind of entertaining on a comic level if not a musical level so there’s at least that going for it.
I mean if we want to talk about people singing “bad”, John Lydon sung “badly” on all those Sex Pistols recordings, and he did it deliberately to try and counter original bass player John Matlock’s very jolly major-scale basslines. Take away the snarling vocals and loud guitar and Sex Pistols is almost children’s TV music… but it was that juxtaposition of bright melody and harmony with aggressive delivery that actually came to define punk music style, in the end.
Is it true that the 2 big parties in Australia are so unpopular now that more people are supporting the racist fish and chip lady’s party out of spite?
Who the fuck knows. That’s what some polls say, but polls don’t always predict a winner. It scares me that extreme far-right Nazi party One Nation could win an election in the future but I hope Australians aren’t that dumb. Who knows though, we are a nation of idiots sometimes. If she gets in it’ll be like when Victor Orban got in in Hungary, bad times for everyone, especially the working-class people who are being suckered into supporting Pauline by social media bot farm posts and her “auntie” pose, they’ll get hit the hardest of all because Pauline always votes in favour of the rich end of town. She’s got big mining money funding her now, she’s not going to upset her masters and cut her own cash flow. She will do exactly what Gina Rinehart tells her to, so look forward to that if she gets in.
What do you think about the Heeseung situation? I feel like the group’s vocal abilities have been…heavily compromised. The main vocalist now is quite underdeveloped and strained in vocals, and most of the members can’t really carry a tune. Not that Heeseung was an amazing vocalist by any means, he was quite average. Although, groups with worse vocals have survived, and they are a boy group, so it seems that their lacking abilities will get swept under the rug to focus on the new it girl of the week’s lipsyncing scandal.
Another question: I know that you mostly stan 2nd and 3rd gen girl groups, but do you have any 4th gen or 5th gen group recs? Can be girl groups or boy groups, or whatever you enjoy and listen to
No opinion on Heesung. You don’t need vocal abilities in a k-pop boy group. I mean, just look at BTS. Good vocals are clearly a “nice to have”, not a “must have”.
I don’t really stan groups, I just like good songs. Just search “favourite” (spelled like that, with the ‘u’) on this site to find songs I like. But for generalised girl group opinions this post might be useful. There’s no equivalent boy group tier list as I can’t find a tier chart that has most of the boy groups on it that I’d even put at the higher tiers. A lot of the very best boy songs are from groups that only had one or a few songs and then vanished.
is it true that AV featuring IRL adult women with this body type {petite, small breasts} is banned in your country?
No. The reality is, as usual with things like this that go viral, a little more nuanced than clickbait headlines would have you believe.
does this video mrs?
I like the overall energy but the ugly 1970s-ness and the weird filters definitely make this a no-fap zone.
thoughts on design? do you find it ugly or no? {new Ferrari EV}
It’s mainly the colour that sucks. I don’t really care about cars though.
what skincare products do you use? what’s your daily application routine?
I cleanse my skin with the tears of netizens.
Is being shot by a dog a uniquely american thing? It happens every couple of years. Have you ever heard of it happening in Australia?
Never. Must be an American thing. You guys have so many guns just lying around that it’s only natural that animals will accidentally trip over them and shoot someone by accident. Please Americans, pick up your guns and dispose of them thoughtfully once you’re finished using them.
Which K-Pop idols do you think are in the LGBTQ+ spectrum?
Answered here.
How hot would you say the members of Mamamoo are?
37°C (98.6°F)
What are the Super Junior clones of Sorry, Sorry, and what would you say makes them worse than other songs that are from other groups that clearly try to replicate a previous success?
Most obviously, Bonamana and Mr Simple were both going for a recreation of the same vibe, and both nearly got there but what they were missing is the big keyboard riff from “Sorry Sorry” that sounded like it came straight from a Black Sabbath record.
is this a mainly Gen Z fetish? {feet juice} I don’t get it.
Foot fetishism is as old as fetishism itself. Not my bag, but it’s apparently incredibly common. The reason for it, supposedly, is that the areas that control the genitals and the feet are very close together in the brain structure and sometimes there’s a bit of overlap.
As a former fan of Jackson, I find what’s happened just highly unfortunate, without excusing what he’s defending. In almost every other aspect, Jackson seems like one of the K-Pop idols with the most levelheaded and reasonable personalities. The CCP defense is just such a travesty of a misstep for a Hong Konger. But, he’s made his bed and must now lie on it. To what extent do you think he truly believes the stuff he says? Do you think he regrets picking this side and now needing to stick to it when he could have averted this by staying silent?
No idea. But his point of view really isn’t that uncommon for Chinese exposed to the typical western China discourse. Most Chinese are actually pretty cynical about their government, you’d be surprised how much they dislike it… that is, until they get VPNs or other exposure to western media and see the rest of the world shitting on China, that’s when they tend to adopt a “China number one” type attitude in response. I kinda get it, I suppose if the rest of the world hated Australia I’d probably adopt a defensive posture too. Instead they just think we’re a joke… and that’s kind of okay because we are hahaha
your thoughts on her thoughts? {short-form shredding content isn’t it, because it’s not really how guitarists play in the real world, or want to play}
Basically true. Although I would have preferred if she used something other than jazz to illustrate her point.
At restaurants do you ever order off the kid’s menu to get smaller portions and/or save some money?
One of my favourite takeaway treats are the breakfast menu pancakes at McDonald’s. I’ll buy them for myself and my elderly father whom I live with. My father has a hard time with large meal portions so I’ll order for him the Hotcakes Happy Meal, which has 2x pancakes, rather than the standard 3x.
Very few places I go to eat even have a kid’s menu. I don’t really eat at fast food type places or pubs habitually. Sometimes the venues that I play at have them, but I never order from it because I prefer to eat a pretty large meal before a show so I’ve got energy to jump around with my guitar like an idiot for hours.
(Accidently asked this in the non qrimole form) Have you heard of Jacob Collier? The general consensus seems to be that he is super talented in a musically technical/theoretical sense, but lacks “soul” or feeling in his work (whatever that means, music-wise). What you think about the two dichotomies, if it even really is such- I’ve thought that talented artists should automatically get the “sentimental” “soul” blah blah stuff down as part of being “skilled”, but I’m coming from mostly a creative writing person though.
“Soul” is a very subjective word that doesn’t really mean much at all. Musicians throw that word around all the time but ask them to define it and you’ll always just get more hazy ill-defined terms. Jacob Collier is a very skilled musician, I don’t care for his music at all, but to say it doesn’t have “soul” is reaching into some psuedo-spiritual bullcrap.
That’s just a cut and paste of my original answer on ask.oppar.party. To go deeper, because this is QRIMOLE, there is a thing musicians do where they perceive those with impeccable technique as not having “soul” or “sounding like a computer” or whatever. Which is generally bullshit, because people who have really good technique are fine at sounding “organic” too or whatever. It’s pretty much just people being jealous that others can play better.
I’ve been to my first kpop concert ever and I want to thank you for your invaluable advises! Really without them I would’ve had a LOT of trouble, like completely destroyed ears for example. The venue was so scummy that not only they didn’t want people to bring water bottles inside, but they didn’t want plastic bottle either because they are “plastic free” or whatever. When they asked me to consign them my plastic bottles I replied: “Absolutely not, I’m diabetic” (I’m not) and went inside; like fuck off I’m not a retarded kpop fan!
The concert itself was good until that Chaeyoung slut said: “I saw people that are dancing while seated, you know you can get up right? C’mon get up and enjoy!” and of course what do you think those lobotomized idiots did? They stayed up FOR THE FUCKING REST of the concert! Imagine paying a LOT of money for the luxury of enjoying the concert comfortably seated and standing instead! Amazing. I had never had any kpop fan interaction whatsoever, not in real life nor online, I just knew by reading you and others that kpop fans are absolute waste of space and I’d never doubted it but, man, you have to EXPERIENCE their disgusting asses to really understand it. I finally fucking fully understand those IU’s death stares directed at the crowd! And you know what, for some strange reasons I’m convinced that one reader of yours once lamented this exact same thing as mine here on qrimole or on the ask page and me reading her message while being horrified. Am I tripping real hard? Or do you remember something perhaps? So my questions are:
While I had my ear plugs on for the entirety of the concert I caught the first batch of screams (a voice suddenly announced that the concert would start soon) while I was yet to put the plugs inside my ears, so for those 3- 4- 5 seconds of screams I unfortunately wasn’t protected. I wanted to ask you: can those seconds affect my ears’ health in the future? Do I have to go to an ENT specialist to get my ears checked?During the concert night I absolutely understood what you meant when you said that kpop as a genre doesn’t know how to properly do the live part of the music business. I mean, I don’t have ADHD nor I get distracted easily, if anything I tend to concentrate too much to the point that I don’t realize what’s going on around me, but sometimes I would find myself distracted and thinking about other things during the concert. It happened just on two short moments but it happened. When you went to see kpop acts did it happen to you perhaps?
Thank you for writing and doing your stuff!
OMG Chaeyoung that whore. I hate standing up for entire concerts.
I don’t remember the other reader, but I do answer a lot of fucking questions hahaha
Permanent ear damage – not very likely from just a few seconds, although it does depend on a few factors but generally speaking unless we’re talking a literal explosion it takes more than one tiny exposure to make much difference. If your ears weren’t ringing two days later I wouldn’t worry about seeing an ENT. I only went to one concert where my ears were still ringing the next day, and that was Throwing Muses because I was standing right in the front row and the singer’s guitar amp was pointed right at my head the whole night and she had that super-bright Fender clean-with-slight-breakup tone so it was very high-end frequency. But rest assured that the people who go deaf don’t do so because of one incident, they do so from years and years of playing in bands with no earplugs, or daily headphone/earbud use, or working in a factory with loud noise 40 hours per week etc. It’s mostly the cumulative threat that sends most people deaf, not any one incident.
I’m ADHD like a motherfucker (probably) and my brain wanders during every activity you can imagine, including concerts. I’m so comfortable inside my own head and that’s great for writing and thinking up stories and posts and music and really bad for pretty much all other types of human activities that exist hahaha
what’s the alternative, just order groceries online for delivery? i think even knowing this most ppl would probably just take the L and keep shopping at the supermarket. how about you?
I don’t really care that I’m being watched. It’s their property, they can watch me if they want, I don’t even see an issue. Just like if the supermarket manager ever went into my house, I’d watch him. But if they want to learn my buying habits they can just ask me.
helpful for you or no? {version of search engine duckduckgo without ai}
To all readers who QRIMOLE – you don’t have to “clickbait title” your questions. You can just say what the thing is. For a lot of these questions this month I’ve put what the thing is in curly brackets just to save people a click who don’t want to keep clicking back and forth between this post and some other page.
Anyway I don’t use search engines very often to be honest, although sometimes I will when searching for articles or doing research on a thing. DuckDuckGo’s non-AI search gets pretty different results from Google so I’ll definitely keep it. By the way you can force Google search to not use AI too, just type “google search without ai” and the AI response will tell you how to tell it to go fuck itself.
What’s up! I’m bored here on a professional holiday waiting when you’ll post the June Qrimole but whatever, I’ll make this for the July one, have nothing else to do.
I’m assuming mixing&mastering (and whatever that difference is) is on average pretty decent in kpop unlike composition choice or melody-writing with genres being all over the place and you complaining about modulation (or some shit) and consistency. I remember there being a mix so bad kpop fans complained and one nugu ass group had to change the mix. And then there was OEC song Sweet Crazy Love which had a different mix because of rights issues (with BBC) and all and of course orbits noticed shit like that because they are all music wankers (I am one, not to mix that up). Which is funny because LOOΠΔ’s production was always lackluster to general public (I’ve tested that on my friends with pretty typical tastes like… liking short from billboard top 200 of boring ass R&B).
Well, that’s what makes LOOΠΔ discography so appealing to all those people who only hang out on RYM but also I’ve never found out what’s the exact issue? Could you tell me? Honestly. And I know you’ve told and I’ve seen it that actually making a popular song isn’t as easy as people think and people don’t know if something hits even if they plan it.Anyway, I noticed you also don’t make separate comments on how the audio quality is fucking ass if the structure, melody, some composition stuff or whatever are excellent. You never mention that as a problem for jpop you consistently show hate for either and from my experience there is a bigger chance of mixing&mastering sucking there.
I’ve also watched musicians long time ago reacting to some kpop and I remember how DAY6’s mixing was ass for a band. What’s a good mixing&mastering example for a rock song then?
And what’s a song you use to maybe adjust the sound on your headphones? Knowing you, you probably don’t bother with all that equalizer shit but my headphones are pretty shitty lol! People say to use the song you actually like and know and it’s Shadow by f(x) for me (I go as far as listening to the demo version of it which is Candy Man by Liz Primo) but that hasn’t done me any good in a particular except for proving to myself it’s really one of the b-sides ever, can one imagine. Honestly, the lengths SM went for producers, they still do that because I have no idea how it is for people who are into music making with finding samples (I fucking forgot whatever sample I am referencing, some aespa shit) but it’s so crazy to me how Sophie fucking Ellis-Bextor is involved in that one. Are there any songs that are like it? It feels like a pretty special case to me in a way that maybe somewhere out there god knows where there is something similar but off the top of my head I can’t name it unlike all the Jersey club slop that’s coming out recently.
Another one I like is Selfish Waltz by ATEEZ which isn’t giving me anything either except for the fact that I know I like 80s and it’s roughly in the same vein as other kpop songs trying retro (and since the member who made it is a Michael Jackson fan which gives me so little because I have knowledge of like five MJ songs, Taemin outsold actually and Prince paved the way) but that’s not mixing topic because I stuck at that one.
Speaking of ATEEZ, they suffer, in my friend’s opinion and objectively (decibel wise) of making loud as fuck songs which seems to be hated on because my friend prefers Not Today by BTS to Wonderland. Is being loud that bad? Aside from making bad songs part of those.
Nothing wrong with the mixing on any Loona songs.
Nothing wrong with the mix on any Day6 songs either.
A lot of music fans tend to conflate stylistic choices with “bad mixing”, and that’s really got more to do with a lot of pop music fans just not being very music literate. You can see it on websites too – how many websites devoted to pop music (not just talking the k-pop sites – those too or course, but you can see the same on any pop music websites) are written by people with no or very minimal musical knowledge at all, only music-cultural knowledge? Pretty much all of them. Most people who write about pop music sidestep the musical content, because people who actually care about music tend to explore… well, more interesting music, to put it bluntly. Whereas a weirdo like me enjoys finding a needle in a haystack but most actual music fans who also have musical knowledge won’t put in that effort (and why should they, let’s be real) they’ll just go and listen to something better.
Being loud is good. I actually like that about some Ateez songs.
How in demand would a super specialised gig work job like this be? Would he have to charge a lot to make a living out of it, or would he have to work in other industries on the side to sustain himself?
It’s pretty sustainable as long as you’re the only one doing it in your area, or you’re the person with the best reputation in your area doing it. Although I wouldn’t hire this guy. He completely removed the sostenuto mechanism on that 100 year old upright, what the fuck, sostenuto pedals are awesome just get some WD-40 in there and fucking fix it geez.
So I’m in a Eurovision Discord, and we were discussing this year’s winner, “Bangaranga” by the Bulgarian artist Dara. You don’t have to listen to it to answer this question (though I am curious what Dara’s boobs rating would be), just know that it has a relatively unusual structure, not verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus, and multiple tempo changes.
Several people in the Discord said, “‘Bangaranga’ reminds me of K-pop” or “Oh, yeah, Dara seems very K-pop-ish, I think she trained like a K-pop artist.” And I was surprised, since to me the song didn’t feel “K-pop-ish” at all. (Or Dara herself; I mean, she started out in her teens, and she dances, but I doubt the Bulgarian music industry is nearly as heavily structured as the Korean one. Also, she’s married and seems to be able to write her own songs and exercise at least some creative control.) Somebody brought up “Pinky Up,” but “Pinky Up” is a pretty conventional song — it’s uptempo, but the tempo doesn’t change at any point, the background rhythm stays consistent.
Eventually we figured out that Dara at one point sold a song to SM (Kai’s “Rover,” you were unimpressed). And I managed to come up with some tempo-switching K-pop songs for them — (G)I-DLE’s “Oh My God,” and “Nxde,” I guess Soyeon likes tempo switches. And I also posted them a link to Rainbow’s “Black Swan” so they could hear an actually interesting song. But it did leave me wondering: do non-K-pop listeners think current K-pop is more sonically varied than it actually is? I guess they only hear the songs that really stand out, like “Gnarly,” and then assume everything else is like that? Or maybe it is more sonically varied, and I’m not realizing it because I don’t really enjoy the industry anymore, and am camped out with Bias List Nick on the Island of Sweettune Nostalgia. What do you think?
And one more question while I’m at it: I saw you mentioning on Asian Junkie’s Sportball Roundup page that you and Jennifer enjoy the Dark Asia with Megan YT channel. I checked it out and it looks good, but I can only get a few minutes into each episode before I’m like, that’s enough, let’s watch videos of dogs dramatically whining while being bathed. And generally I do badly with horror (though I really enjoy Junji Ito, for some reason). Is there a case to be made for developing greater horror/true-crime tolerance? To each their own, obviously, but maybe there are benefits to being able to confront stories of the worst of humanity that I’m not realizing.
And finally: how is Stiglitz doing?
Dara’s outfit seems pretty padded and reinforced, can’t really assess boobs accurately under that industrial strength garment.
I think people newly-aware of k-pop – of which there are a lot – wouldn’t remember the glory days of Sweetune, they would be more familiar with recent trends including style-switching.
I’m not hugely interested in true crime personally, although my partner loves it. I’m sometimes interested when it covers certain topics more in my wheelhouse, like Burning Sun etc. I can also take or leave horror films, I quite like some of the good ones but I don’t have the fascination for horror in general that some people have.
Stiglitz is good!
Any truth to this or no? {men remember compliments about their appearance because it doesn’t happen often}
Yes.
what do you think of these outfits? I think they’re real miss. like yeji is in an evening dress + a men’s tie + a sailor’s hat. oh lord.
All pretty awful. They all look like some weird version of glammed-up diapers.
The buildup from 2:37 to 3:18 always makes my chest hurt from tensing up. What is actually happening here? It’s such an interesting sensation, like I’m holding my breath even though I’m still breathing.
Basically a crescendo (things getting gradually louder) plus the pitch of most instruments gradually moving up (in a roundabout way) at the same time, plus a subtle change in the rhythms where there’s more syncopation in the beat and a shuffling hi-hat type thing that starts hitting sixteen times per bar which makes things feel like they’re going faster (even though the underlying pulse hasn’t changed). So louder/higher/faster.
(update from my birthday post)
Apparently, my favorite arcade rhythm game, Pump It Up (and yes, I was that person who asked you that question about discovering K-Pop through this game), has a new instalment that will be released next month and they added some of my favorite K-Pop songs, including Strawberry Rush in a later update. At least, there’s a good thing to keep my sanity from whatever this fuckhead {Indonesian president} is doing.
Also, do you have any video games recommendations (mobile/PC) that help you calm down? Nowadays, I play Candy Crush Saga whenever I feel ass although I should’ve spent my time doing my assignments instead.
Anyway, thank you for writing some cool contents, oppar!!
I like Noita a lot, but then I like dying, I think it’s funny. Play it if you like dying, and chaos. It’s like one of those sand and other materials playbox type web pages, if it were a full game. So much content you’ll never get through it all. A game that encourages you to break it. Disclaimer: relaxation is subjective.
Hypothetically, can Starship sue the team behind Kpop Demon Hunters and claim that “Golden” is plagiarized from IVE’s “I AM”?
Hypothetically anybody can sue anybody and claim anything. Whether they’ll win is another thing, but we’ve seen some crazily wrong-headed decisions (like the Blurred Lines case) in this space so anything’s possible.
i think this guy’s voice {Australian YouTuber friendlyjordies} sounds annoying AF, can’t watch the videos because of it. do you have some “immunity” as an australian?
No, he’s just annoying. I removed your video link so as not to annoy others.
Don’t care if anyone asked something like this already, where does one start with making music?
I’m always getting torn in between stuff like writing, attending book club (and reading), drawing and some other new hobby. Once I picked up for like four times vocal lessons. They were like fine but I’ve realised I don’t have stuff I want to sing. I like music for other things, one example I like to give is Bass Slut by S3RL (hey also can you don’t show the name) {why would I redact the name? That’s just silly. Come on man this is a site about music we don’t redact song titles here unless they’re j-pop hahaha} which is upbeat (duh) and the lyrics really don’t matter to me. I’ve tried being like one of those people who break down and praise lyricism and lol, if your song isn’t worth my listen, and it isn’t most of the time, I won’t pay attention to any of your smart lyrics. Also I’ve really enjoyed your post about vocals (was it long time ago?) and how people compete over their faves and it doesn’t matter, actually, lol. So I’ve realised vocals isn’t my thing to pursue with that attitude. Yeah, I could become good but it was such a bore choosing a song for myself for those lessons. That’s also why I’m not sure about getting lessons in music theory, will I get through that shit as fickle as my focus is and how I just want to do everything at the same time. And I know I can’t so I rotate my interests by weeks. People who can do it and then post on social media are cool and all but I always feel like many of them are fucking lying, lol. Is it better to start with music school or just pirate a random software and start clicking shit? There was one kpop account I’ve been following for like 10 years and I’ve learned about song structures, at least. Obviously haven’t learned about chord progressions, tf I look like. Another criteria they used was Emotion / Mood which is a thing I got the least unlike Genres which I learned about more with their examples. Also, will things get more boring the more you learn? I feel like my brain did get used to certain quality of songs (whatever it might be for other people I don’t know, but I’ve got used to consistency of that one person), the same with your blog though most of my taste and listening habits were established by the point I found it. For example, there are those “80s but not really, we call it new retro” type of songs you mostly approve but as a liker (lover would be an exaggeration) of new wave 80s songs and some of those examples, it became stale to me too so I wish that trend is over soon, lol, to me personally it was just like any other (when will newjeansification of music leave) with how “if you have nothing cool to offer, then go” That is to say THANKS for Back To You, I wouldn’t learn about it otherwise, and thanks for Pray by Sunny Hill, I’ve remembered how I liked that song when I was moving through your tops
Start anywhere but I think starting with free options is more sensible. A lot of people who get into music just do it by fucking around until they find shit they like. I know a guy who knows nothing about music at all but just experimented with a tracker program and made shit he liked the sound of and ended up with a European record deal. You can do it. Don’t think too hard, it’s more important to just make a start. Where isn’t that important as long as you’re enjoying it.
Of course after a while everything gets boring, but that boredom will push you to experiment and try new things, so embrace it.
is this song a nursery rhyme for kids?
No it’s just boring. I removed it for the good of humanity, and I removed a few other similar questions about similarly boring songs completely too. Come on team, let’s lift the question quality a bit. Lots of stuff like this is the reason why this month’s QRIMOLE got so heavily delayed.
in your years of covering kpop, have you noticed if body moles/dimples are popular fetish in korea? i play korean gooner game Nikke: Goddess of Victory and a lot of the characters have body moles/dimples.
Dimples maybe, but moles probably not – most wannabe idols get them removed long before they debut. In fact believe it or not mole removal is the most common cosmetic surgery in the country. Only the very privileged like IU and Qri get to keep their moles.
hey, can you explain why there’s many yapping segments and “call and response” audience interaction BS at kpop concerts?
Because k-pop doesn’t sell music, it sells idols, and all that yapping stuff helps you “get to know the idol”. It’s all about keeping you the fan sticky and loving the person you came to see. That’s why k-pop does this a lot and other types of music scenes that have fans that are actually there for the music, not so much.
So going by this article, would it be a valid interpretation that it’s more economically viable currently for kpops to add an Auckland stop rather than North American individual cities?
“The Syncopation tour itinerary makes that plain. i-dle opened in Seoul, played Taipei Dome and Bangkok’s Impact Arena, and have dates across Singapore, Yokohama, and Hong Kong through June – with Oceania stops in Melbourne and Sydney slotted in between. The geography of that schedule is not incidental. It reflects where K-pop’s commercial centre of gravity actually sits. ”
If that’s the case then it makes me feel a little better. I still wish we’d get far more Auckland kpop gigs though.
Are reasons for say Twice going to Sydney and Melbourne, but not Auckland, be the same ones they’d skip other major Australian cities like Adelaide, Perth?
When Babymon announced an Auckland gig a lady on social media in NZ’s South Island expressed hope for a Christchurch gig (which I think is the highest population Sth Island city). I replied that it’s highly unlikely, getting any kpop act in NZ is like close to a miracle. Auckland has always been the epicentre for international act touring, because of population density.
If you’re into rock + metal though, then that’s far more likely to get a tour stop even in non Auckland NZ cities (and non Sydney, Melbourne cities in Aus). Can you explain that? Do rock + metal artists know that they’ll get people to show up? (metal is the far more niche of the two.)
Promoters are risk-averse as fuck, because just one show that isn’t well-attended can mean that an entire tour doesn’t turn a profit, so they prioritise the towns where they know they will definitely get bums on seats. They do this by looking at what worked in the past. So Sydney and Melbourne, not Adelaide. Probably not New Zealand, but if New Zealand then Auckland, not Christchurch. One sell-out show is more profitable than two respectably full shows, because there are tons of expenses for each day that you spend on the road, plus you have to hire the venue twice for two shows.
The reason why metal does more cities is because most metal groups typically play smaller venues, only the VERY big-ticket celebrity artists in metal are trying to fill a stadium on their own. Also there are just more metal fans in the country, honestly. K-pop is big and getting bigger, but in western countries metal has a head start. You’ll find the pattern that smaller k-pop groups that play smaller venues do more shows and that’s because smaller venues have cheaper (or sometimes no) hire rates which can make playing a bunch of them more sustainable. That’s why sometimes Blackpink or whoever will skip your town but some obscure C-list group that weirdly decides to drop in won’t.
Dreamcatcher is well-known for having changed its image and even name to great success. What other groups did the same? How successful were they?
I’m not sure about “great success”, they’ve only been mildly commercially successful and the music has been sometimes excellent but just as often a disappointment. They should be up there with Babymetal in terms of fame levels, as the time is definitely ripe for a k-pop/metal crossover, but they fumbled the bag quite frankly.
There are many, many groups that went through a few name changes before finding success, but you often don’t hear about the early names because they flopped and nothing was recorded with them. Nirvana had a ton of names prior, The Beatles were originally The Silver Beetles, The Cult were Southern Death Cult, Pink Floyd were The Tea Set, and so on. Groups who changed their name after notoriety generally doesn’t happen without a corresponding style change and personnel change, because why would you change something that’s already working if you wanted to just keep doing the same thing. Most notable for me is Hellhammer > Celtic Frost > Triptykon and while all three groups are separate groups with slightly different sounds they also share much in common and Hellhammer had at least some notoriety before switching. It’s the closest thing I can think of to a Minx > Dreamcatcher style transition.
Dear Kpopalypse,
I come to you with a very serious question. I am about to start my own Kpop. It will be a group of seven talented boys all >16 and the concept is hip hop / gangsta / rnb. The songs we will have them perform for the public to get to know them will be BTS ‘Hooligan’, EXO ‘Love Shot’, and FiftyFifty ‘Cupid’.
But, we are having difficulties with the name. I have listed our top 5 names below for you. Kpopalypse, please help our team pick the perfect name for our boys.
1. LovePop
2. D$ll@rZ
3. Fweesh
4. f7AGbfjupGb!
5. Sweeeties
Thank you very much, Kpopalypse, I greatly await your response and nuanced thoughts.
Go with 4. Very web-searchable, and you’ll have a great time watching journalists try to skirt around having to say the name at interviews. It’ll be k-pop’s Prince “love symbol” moment.
Can you please help me with my gay questions, please?
1. Is it normal to immediately lose a crush the moment you find out their goals or views don’t align with yours? I was into this girl at work, then I found out she wants kids and is probably straight and now I dgaf. Tbf I don’t exactly have much if any romantic interest in people and don’t suffer over rejections, breakups and incompatibility. The way most people talk about romantic love and go all loopy and mushy when they’re going through it is alien to me. On the other hand I’ve not had sex in a decade (it’s hard to find a fuckbuddy when you’re far hornier than most sapphics) and I’m so frustrated I fap like multiple times a day. Should I be worried about my mental state
2. I’m planning to be a teacher (haven’t started studying yet, next year). However, there are no discrimination protection policies in my country and we have a fascist party that doxed a whole lot of teachers (full name, address, school or university, subject taught) for being “woke” by trawling through their social media, publications, blogs, articles posted in journals, etc. I am a luddite w/ no social media but I do want to meet other LGBT+ people and the easiest way is through dating apps. Students have come across their teachers’ dating app profiles before, reported them to their school and gotten them fired for made up reasons, bc, technically, firing someone for homosexuality is illegal. Good luck trying to prove it in court though + one’s employment information is fully available to any potential employer. I know I’m planning wayy ahead but this scenario worries me to the point where I think I might need to change career course. That and teaching being shit in general lol. What would you do if you were me
1. Yes, but that’s a good thing. Do you really want an unrequited crush that badly, probably not, it’ll just complicate your life. I wish that when I was younger I didn’t crush on a whole bunch of people who were obviously not appropriate for me for a whole list of reasons, would have saved me a ton of heartache.
2. Don’t use your real name on your dating app. Talk in the most generic terms about what you do only (“I’m an educator” not “I teach year 12 at school x”). Delete all photos AND personally identifying information AND private your profile as soon as you find someone serious. Delete your entire dating account as soon as you no longer need it, you can always make a new one later. Only keep your profile public while you’re actively looking. Don’t even signal that you’re gay or write pro-gay things on the app if it’s already a gay app (people already know why you’re there). Don’t post anything that would look bad in some conservative’s screencap like lots of rainbows and shit, don’t be “performatively” gay. Same goes for chats, be wary of being baited by potential conservatives looking for “material”, absolutely no sexting or pics, polite conversation only. Your goal is to line up a physical meeting and establish authenticity and safety. Even after this is established, don’t do stuff online. Save the gay for in person.
I know you’ve written plagiarism is practically impossible to prove in music. But, I wanted to ask about self-plagiarism. Teddy is the most infamous example in Kpop. In my head, I was thinking about Yuki Kaijura as well. She writes for Kalafina.
And
These two are for different works, but they’re quite similar.
Where does the line of plagiarism change where the inspiration is clearly one’s own past work?
It’s not that plagiarism is impossible to prove, it’s actually quite easy to prove when it exists. It’s just that people are often trying to prove it when it’s not there. Sadly, they are sometimes succeeding, because courts and judges and especially juries are often as ignorant about musical knowledge as the average k-pop fan, and smart prosecution lawyers can exploit this.
You can’t self-plagiarise. Literally not possible from a legal point of view (which is the only point of view that matters). If it’s yours, and you own it, you can use it wherever you want to use it. Period.
isn’t this a really out of touch comment? {some girl saying that if you have a second job to support music you’d be better off practising instead during that time because then you’re more likely to be booked} assuming the dude is a doing musician gig work, who know when TF he would be paid? dude would need a means to put food on the table in the meantime.
Yeah her comment assumes that more skill = more work, and we all know that’s not actually always how it goes. Yes if you’re better at what you do you can get booked more (I know because it happens to me) BUT this discounts factors like location, access to opportunities, the immediate need to eat and pay rent, the fact that someone with nepotism on their side or “connections” can get a leg up over you in your field, and so on. We don’t all have the privilege of being supported while spending time honing our craft and waiting for the money to roll in, and even if you do get paid in this business getting your hands on the actual money can still take a long-ass time. At any given moment I’m owed thousands of dollars. By the way thank you to all of you who bought Girls909, and it might interest you to know that I haven’t seen any money yet. Amazon and Kobo both take a long-ass time to pay out. It’ll come, but not quickly (unlike your mum).
Hello, oppar! My birthday is coming in the next two weeks as I’m writing this question. Unfortunately, my country is falling apart even worse and we’re not even surprised considering how bad my government is.
So, what should I do to celebrate my birthday? Do I order anything other than a cake to eat, reread comic books to pleasure myself, or just accept my fate as my country is destroying its reputation and continue doing anything to save myself? Either way, thank you for making this website so I can enjoy reading your posts as my president doing anything but “””transforming Indonesia into a sovereign, advanced, and sustainable nation””” as he stated.
Gosh the Indonesians are really going through it. It’ll probably be Australia’s turn next when the racist fish and chip nazi lady running One Nation finally gets her hooks into everything. I guess every country needs their turn at ultra-far-right populism just so they can learn how livelihood-destroying, country-destroying and economy-destroying it all is. I don’t really have any advice I’m busy stockpiling food so I have a chance of survival in Australia after the next election.
You said BTS were at their best during their early era. I know War of Emotions is your favorite song of theirs, but what else is worth listening?
More album reviews will eventually answer this question. Spoiler: I wouldn’t bother, there’s so much other k-pop to listen to that’s better.
Baemon are coming to Auckland, I’m happy that they’re coming, but I feel like I’m getting a diluted product. Like a 3rd generation VHS tape duplication, if you understand the analogy?
Did you feel like this when Australia got fuck all kpop gigs?
Getting Baemon instead of Blackpink or 2ne1 is like being forced to play Borderlands 3 instead of Borderlands 2; or the Back 4 Blood spiritual successor from skinsuit developer, instead of Left 4 Dead 2 by Valve.
Yeah I would have liked it if better groups came back when I could afford to go and see groups. Now that I’m broke and concert ticket prices are sky high all the groups are coming here!
in this fancam it’s pretty obvious that the character dancing movement is motion captured, cuz hand animation of 3D isn’t that fluid or move like that.
but what about the boob jiggle, how do you think they were animated? physics effects? hand animation?
The proportions aren’t realistic (girls of this size do exist but the shape here is wrong, there’s too much horizontal fanning out from the torso), but for someone with those proportions, the amount of jiggle is actually pretty realistic, it doesn’t look like the usual exaggerated physics jiggle. I’m pretty sure what they did was gave whatever girl was doing the mocap moves a big stuffed fake bra to wear and mocapped that as well. I could be wrong, if I am, good work whoever animated this.
Your opinion of the movie Interstellar?
I think it sucks ass. It tricks you into thinking it’s a hard science film, when really it’s a sentimental, pseudo-religious film about having blind faith.
Never seen it, didn’t interest me. Your description reminds me of Flatliners, which has similar flaws.
Is Mistreatment Marketing a thing in kpop? Is that what’s going on with Katseye and Enhypen? Companies saw that engagement went through the roof when fans thought their idols needed to be saved so they’re putting those narratives out there? Or is treating idols like crap just part of kpop and they don’t care who knows it.
Kpopalypse’s law: never attribute to 5D marketing genius what can be more easily explained by k-pop agencies simply being tone deaf and having no fucking clue.
i thought this was a C grade nugu group from some nobody agency… but they’re with Cube?! Are they huge flops? i can’t think of any expanation for them not promoting for like 1.5-2 years and just slumming it doing army baracks performances.
Yes Lightsum were on Cube. Yes they were huge flops.
Why are Korean aespa fans boycotting the aespa song with G-Dragon? Does it have to with the shirt he wore a while ago? Or it is because they can’t stand features on an aespa song?
It’s because it doesn’t have a decent beat, fortunately Annie fixed it for everyone.
Hey! This is my first QRIMOLE question, and my question may not be much, but answering it would mean a lot to me.
Right now, I’ve been growing a little bored on listening to EDM music-trends lately (Examples being LE SSERAFIM’s “Celebration” & “Boompala”, ILLIT’s “It’s Me”, BABYMONSTER’s “Choom” or KATSEYE’s “Pinky Up”) and I’m looking for new songs that could save ears like mine. Do you have any song recommendations? Thank you for your time.
It’s a bit tricky to help you here because while you’ve stated you don’t like the EDM trend, I don’t know what you’d prefer to listen to instead.
I do a favourites list at the end of each year but in the meantime just listen to this.
1. Would having stuff like mics and mic power packs strapped to your ass be electrical shock hazards at Water Bomb?
2. Fifty Fifty did Water Bomb?
1. No. This stuff uses alkaline or lithium-ion batteries, the same shit your personal devices use. Not that much charge goes through them, enough for a polite tickle at most, but if they’re on your belt you’re probably not physically touching them anyway. Stage crew will usually improvise some waterproofing if rain is likely, but in a worst case scenario the equipment is much more likely to silently fail than zap you, and it’s silent failure that the engineers would be far more concerned about.
2. I heard they sung “Starry Night” there, now that’s a song you could listen to if you wanted.
Is logistically challenging to play like this? Do you need to be of advanced skill to pull it off?
Thoughts on band? Marutake Ebisu
Not that difficult. Guitarists mainly play by feel, they don’t look at their instrument if not playing complex stuff.
Boring j-rock by numbers. Snore.
if you had been the home invader, how would you have gone about it? do you think you would’ve been successful in doing the crime and escaping?
Summary of the Nana Home Invasion Incident
In late 2025, the South Korean actress and former After School member Nana (Im Jin-ah) was involved in a harrowing home invasion that shocked the public and reignited national debates regarding self-defense laws. The Break-in: At roughly 6:00 AM, a man in his 30s used a ladder to enter Nana’s home through an unlocked balcony door.
The Attack: The intruder first encountered Nana’s mother in the living room and began choking her. Nana, hearing the struggle from her bedroom, rushed out and physically intervened to save her mother.
Subduing the Intruder: Despite the intruder being armed with a weapon, Nana and her mother managed to fight him off and hold him down until the police arrived.
The Legal Controversy
The Countersuit: In early 2026, the intruder filed a lawsuit against Nana from jail, claiming “aggravated assault.” He alleged that Nana had stabbed him in the neck during the struggle and argued that her force was excessive for a “simple robbery.”The Ruling: In January 2026, the Guri Police Precinct dismissed all charges against Nana. They ruled her actions were a textbook case of legitimate self-defense, noting that her intervention was necessary to save her mother’s life under extreme threat.
{some edits to remove details irrelevant to the question}
I’m not sure even exactly what the home invader was trying to achieve. It’s no longer a “simple robbery” if you’re strangling someone, that’s definitely a case of doing it wrong and needlessly escalating the situation. Just as well Nana kicked his ass, he deserved it on multiple levels. If it were me as the robber I would have just sang Nana’s own recent songs to her until both her and her mother fell asleep from boredom and then just robbed the house calmly at my leisure and left in a quiet, orderly manner without hurting anyone.
in recent months when Audrey Nuna performs these KDH songs she wears funny looking hanboks, but they always seem to suit her perfectly, imo. have you noticed this? what’s your opinion?
Yeah this works for her. I like a lot of the KDH stage outfits, while they wouldn’t work for other contexts, they’re fine for stage and I like the way they evoke the exaggerated cartoony aspect of KDH in general.
is this song a copy of Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now) by Phil Collins?
No it’s just boring. I removed it for the good of humanity. STANDARDS, people.
can the techniques that this lady is discussing have crossover with singing and/or mental growl vocal usage?
If you want to learn how to do {thing A} don’t listen to someone telling you how to do {thing B} and wonder if that also applies to {thing A}. Just listen to someone telling you how to do {thing A}.
Here:
G’day Oppar~
I know you’re no JPopalypse
Great, so I can skip this question then.
but like, what do you think of Namie Amuro’s catalogue, since I remember you saying NEW LOOK—which was covered by MiSaMo—was one of her worst songs? And which do you recommend?
Also curious of what you think of Britney Spears’ and Boa’s discographies too? Like maybe 2 or 3 songs to start off from? Hahaha
Been in a slump with music nowadays esp. because KPop has been kinda boring, ngl… And I found your music recommendations with non-Kpop artists so refreshing, I especially adored Rachel Chinouriri, Pink Pantheress, and Cibo Matto—my favorite reccommendations from you so far!!
No wonder you’re in a slump. Goddamn.
Just stay tuned to roundup. I’ll keep inserting new random stuff every now and then.
I usually have questions line up when I first read QRIMOLE that I want to ask, but when I go to fill out the form…I…forget…
But I do have a new one that’s more of a life questions. “It’s a what would you do?” type of question.
I’ve played violin since I was four or five years old. I’m 20 now. It was classical training, and I almost always played and recorded things solo. I didn’t really like orchestra because it always felt political, but eventually it got lonely playing solo violin. Not just that but there was a lot of pressure; I never felt good enough about my performances. For a time, I focused on chamber music, and in highschool I really enjoyed practicing and performing in a group with me, a pianist, and a clarinetist. I think I enjoyed it most because it got me out of my head. But I’m not longer in highschool and in college I’ve not found a similar group with a good work ethic, so I just tried continuing to take solo lessons with a new teacher.
The problem is that even now, with the stress of classes and work, and perhaps I’m just not using my time well enough, I don’t have time to dedicate for my instrument at all. It just pains me to play because of how far I feel I’ve fallen in ability and focus. Something needs to change.
I’m getting this degree at supposedly a prestigious college, but I feel very little community, attachment. It feels like standing against the current and I’m just not sure if I want to continue. I’m a second year going into my third though. I feel obligated to continue and graduate. I can’t really go on leave either. Instead I’m supposed to be apply for a program so I can get a 4+1 masters and recruit for quant. My heart is not really in it though, and it’s getting harder to make myself do things I don’t want to do.
At the same time, I write songs. (I started writing when I met a girl who wanted to date me, but her parents wouldn’t let her. She wrote songs too, and produced an EP in 2023 but nothing since) These songs are mostly ideas. They’re stuck in my head and I barely have time to record them on Garage Band. The mic quality is trash, they have too many tracks, are painful to mix, and have this weird far back feel. I posted them unlisted on YouTube. Some I want to redo. But some I’ve shared and I’ve gotten surprisingly positive responses(?) I suppose just because they’re different and weird. The bar for music must be in hell.
I would go make a weird grunge rock band if I could. The problem is that I’d want some popularity and sucess. It feels impossible with the way the music industry is, impossible to keep some sense of artistry and decency. I don’t know if it’s feasible. And yet at the same time I think I might have a dgaf personality that could work, and more of an interest in singing than in violin at this point. I’m also a good visual artist with water color paints and stuff. I haven’t drawn for awhile but I’d love to do more graphic and perhaps even clothing design.
I probably also feel this way because I have an insane roommate. I can’t get into all of it, but she’s like verbally abusive and wrecks a lot of my stuff. No one likes her. She calls me “kitty.” I choose to believe she’s closeted. Anyway she also sings ALL THE TIME, and she’s TONE DEF and she posts it PUBLICLY for everyone to see…and I ask myself…I have so much more ability, why am I not putting myself out there. Why am I running away from something I really want to do just because it feels “frivolus?”
But I think ultimately I’m worried about being so in my head, I can’t leave a mark or do anything meaningful and satisfying with my life. I’m even scared of spending my time maming art that will never be found. Like…some how I’ve lost ability to feel that internal satisfaction. I feel like I either have to quit violin or double down…though it’s scary to think doubling down may mean making a strange – possibly welcome – shift away from classical.
I wonder if I’m just impatient. Reasonably I’d just finish my degree and then work on this. Perhaps I’d just join the college orchestra because it will probably be more lowkey and it gives me something to do. But I do have this summer to make something. I also know places where I can record and contact people. Possibly I’d want to just talk to someone to see if any of this is worth pursuing. I’m based in Philly.
So…here I am. What would you do?
My gut feeling is “everything”. Your recording projects and songwriting and wanting to be in a band aren’t opposed to your violin playing and study – they’re complimentary to it. It’s all music. Why aren’t you combining these things in some weird creative ways?
Nemo was trained in chess from a young age to the point where she was traumatised by it, now she’s a model but she didn’t dump chess, she uses it to boost her modeling profile. Maybe there’s a lesson here…
since you also work in a gig economy profession (session/touring musician), can you give some unique insight in this topic? {some celebrity doing an advert}
ppl in the twitter thread saying that even very well known, famous people can have trouble finding consistent work so they get it where they can. other’s saying it’s a lot of money for very work. I.e. getting paid $100k-1 mill USD for like for only 4 hours of work, when they celebrities film ads.
I don’t know who this person is, but yes. When you’re well known you still don’t always know where your next money is coming from, and fame can vanish as quickly as it appears. There are many celebrities from 30 years ago that are not known today, there is no guarantee you’ll be well-known for life. You have to make hay while the sun shines.
Is there a solution for these delulu people? Do we try to set them straight or just disassociate with them altogether?
Lead by example.
Which of these movies have you seen? {Seulgi’s 2025 movie watch list}
No Country For Old Men (excellent)
Inglorious Basterds (great, Stiglitz approves)
Atonement (pretty good but barely remember it)
Memento (quite good)
thoughts on product? specifically what sort of person would you recommend it to?
Seems ideal for a student on a budget (assuming this rig is cheap) wanting to learn and play with different sounds conveniently without having to buy a ton of add-ons. Also good for someone in a densely populated area who wants to get sounds in a compact environment without big amplifiers or who wants to practice with distortion at low volume without disturbing others. Would not recommend for live gigging and touring because all that built-in computer shit becomes a serious liability on stage, you don’t want to lose your guitar and your entire effects rig if either one suddenly has a problem. More shit on your guitar is just more shit that can go wrong. But I don’t think stuff like this is aimed at the pro market anyway.
thoughts on this platitude? “if you want to go fast, go alone. if you want to go far, go together.”
i would’ve thought you’re not going to go very far if you’re always having to slow down to accomodate others.
Different people are specialised in different things and it’s impossible for one person to be good at everything and hold all the knowledge in the world. My writing goes further than it otherwise would because there are other people who choose to do some of the things that I’m bad at. That’s why I welcome the activity of az5he6ch and Lissa Caonima, for example. I can code to an extent but az5he6ch is better at understanding that shit and he made the ask.oppar.party site to solve a big problem that I’ve always had which is that question/answer sites fucking suck. I don’t like social media but Lissa Caonima seems to and I’m grateful for her repostings of my stuff on TikTok which has brought my writing a wider audience. Yes if you do things yourself you can get stuff done fast but if you want to go really far you need allies. That’s why I spend a lot of time giving back to readers via this QRIMOLE thing and I’m happy to try and help people with their personal shit. I hope that I help others as much as they help me.
when you’re eating candy, do you like eating in one bite, or letting it melt slowly in your mouth?
(‘lollies” in australia? idk)
I’m not big on candy/lollies. I do like chocolate though. I tend to eat it quickly, despite trying to go slow.
Hey oppa! Please forgive my bad English, I’m translating everything.
Anyway, as a big fan of your blog, the thing I definitely like most about you is your frankness and the way you speak directly to your readers without fear of offending anyone. That’s what sets you apart from any other K-pop blog that only says what fans want to hear. And maybe this question sounds a bit confusing and contradictory to what I just said, but I know you also make some heavy jokes and comments, like, for example, that time you joked about Ladies’ Code’s death, or when you comment on the appearance of certain idols, etc. I wasn’t particularly offended by any of those things, but I know there are people who definitely were. So, what’s your policy regarding the jokes and comments you make? Is there a limit to how heavy a joke can be? Aren’t you worried about going too far? This isn’t a criticism, it’s just my curiosity to know how your mind works in relation to this. And the answer would also help me, because I’ve always been very politically correct (read: annoying and fussy). Imagine that fan who cancels their idol because they said the ‘nword’ while lip-syncing a song; an unbearable person. Your blog helped me open my mind about this and made me stop being an asshole. Fuck American culture.
Continuing on this subject of crude jokes, I’d also like to know your opinion on something that happened in my country. If you, caonima, live in Brazil, you’ll surely know who I’m talking about. Basically, a stand-up comedian who was known for making jokes considered disturbing was convicted for making disturbing jokes. They were pretty lame jokes, like, “haha, I was masturbating while looking at a playground, and I also had sex with my 12-year-old cousin, hahaha give me money now you little shits.” Anyway, as far as I remember, he was sentenced to 8 years in prison. He was acquitted, but the question is, what do you think of the type of jokes he made? Definitely disgusting, but did he deserve that conviction? Was what they did to him an exaggeration?
It’s fine to make a joke about anything, there are no taboo topics, period. But the way you tell a joke is important. There has to be an actual point to it, rather than just punching down. For instance, I made jokes about Jonghyun’s suicide, but I never said “hahaha Jonghyun’s suicide is funny, he killed himself how hilarious hahaha”, no. That’s not a joke. That’s just being a dick. I used jokes about Jonghyun and SHINee at that time to highlight other things, like how the issues that cause bad mental health for performers are being swept under the rug by agencies. I’m not laughing at Jonghyun, I’m mocking the industry that creates conditions that don’t give people in Jonghyun’s position the assistance that they need. Of course many k-pop fans are media-illiterate so they struggled to understand this, but the smart ones got it.
I can’t comment on the Brazilian comedian you mentioned as I haven’t seen him and I don’t know who he is. The way you’ve described his jokes he certainly doesn’t sound very funny, but who knows, maybe some of the delivery is lost in translation here. However I think the correct course of action even for the worst art is not to ban it or to lock the people up who make it (because both of those are validation) but simply to just not give it any oxygen. That’s why my roundup is still a compliment to each and every performer who I feature on it, even when I’m shitting on them – it’s still promotion, and people do read, and they do check out the songs, and sometimes they like them regardless of what I write, and I’m fine with that. Music that I truly despise… I don’t talk about it at all.
KPOPALYPSE BOOK AND GENREEAL BOOK QUESTIONS (fairly spoiler-free this time)
If someone wanted to make a film adaptation of a Kpopalypse book, which book would be best suited for Samuel L. Jackson to act in and what would his role be?
Maybe Shian from Girls909 just because of the profanity-laced dialogue but Samuel would need a gender change plus he’s a bit too old for the role. If he has a daughter or granddaughter maybe she could do it.
In Japanese isekai stories a common trope is that the other world operates on RPG video game logic for no apparent reason. Eg Some stories will have deep lore around the mechanics of a dungeon. A common story basis is the protagonist starts off as a low level and gets stronger as they progress, unlocking new active + passive abilities and transformations. An example of this is “I’m a Spider, but that’s Okay.”, where a high school girl from Japan reincarnates in a medieval fantasy world as a tiny weak spider. Eventually in the story she evolves into a powerful spider centaur form (human woman upper half, spider lower half) and can once again speak with humanoid races.
My question is: how would you personally write a “reverse isekai” story, where a person from one of these funny game rule oriented worlds would cope in modern day Korea? They wouldn’t necessarily have to be transported wholesale, they could be reborn into our world. (Reborn infants retaining adult minds and memories is a common trope too.) It would be very important that they retain their knowledge of their previous world and must try to apply knowledge from their original life to try to operate in their new one.
While I definitely wouldn’t attempt such a story personally (except maybe as a dare), I think the key to writing any story like this would be lots of “interiority”. Books aren’t games or films, the advantage of the book is you can invite the reader right inside your character’s heads, very seamlessly. While films and games can recreate this with tools like narration, it’s nowhere near as effective in those more visual mediums. So a book that tackles this well is going to really explore the mental state of someone going through a world where all the rules are completely different. Or maybe not so different, in some ways… but that’s something your character can try to figure out. To write interiority well you need empathy – sitting in someone else’s shoes. So think about putting yourself in your character’s shoes and then think about how that character would perceive the world, and what they would do about it. If you’re doing it right, the book should pretty much write itself from that point.
since there was no direct references to them in Girls 909 book, were there any implied references to the illuminati? eg was emma’s CEO dad part of them?
No, and there never will be. As a creative writer, using “illuminati” content in a fictional story feels like plagiarism of the original creative mind who fictionalised the illuminati concept. Putting it in the books would therefore be creatively pissweak as fuck, because it’s just lazily using someone else’s lore. (This is also the one big problem I have with the writing in the Deus Ex series.)
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if the illuminati existed and cared even one fuck about the music industry, you would know because the music industry would be making more money. Surely an all-powerful secret society would look after its members a bit fucking better than they are currently? Why is everyone broke? Why aren’t more of my favourite satanic metal bands breaking even? Where’s my mansion, cunts? Anyone who disagrees, you can prove me wrong by clicking here, thank you in advance.
thoughts on her book recommendations?
I can’t thrown down on this as I don’t read these genres. But I’ll leave this here for caonima information.
In researching your book did you receive buttsex, ie to properly write about a “lived experience”?
No, I just went deep into my creative psyche to imagine the buttsex. Those who have received buttsex please tell me how well I did and if I missed anything important, I may use the knowledge in future books.
Which IRL agencies did you base XF Entertainment upon?
None, the book is 100% fictional, a very fictional book of very fictional things that definitely could never happen in real life, gosh its practically a sci-fi it’s just that implausible. Hey it’s that unrealistic maybe I could have put the illuminati in there after all hahahaha
If the members of Halcyon were antromorphic animals (cartoon humanoid animals) , what species would each member be and why you did reach each conclusion?
I’m not sure if this is a furry ruining everything, or someone pretending to be a furry to strawman furries as people who ruin everything. I have no opinion on the question, but just know that I will potentially permit anyone making furry adaptations of my books if they send me 50% of all sales from the book plus any film or Rule 34 adaptations, contact if you want to draw up a contract hahaha
Did you model book cover Kang Eunice after Nana Orange Caramel because of the classy sexy potential of the house break in incident?
No, and Eunice is not modelled after Nana, although I agree that after the instructions I gave my artist she certainly came out looking a little like Nana did in Orange Caramel days!
was [redacted] successful or no?
Clearly not, because you hear about what happens regarding it later in a news article. If [redacted] was successful, the news article would directly state this, just as all newsbreaking articles about [redacted] always do (except these ones ahem).
were the questions on the MBTI personality quiz that eunice filled out vapid on purpose?
They were actually pretty realistic to how those types of tests actually are, I looked at a bunch of them to do research to construct realistic questions. They were also chosen to demonstrate something very specific, the fallacy of black and white thinking. It ties in with how Eunice is treated later, where as her fame grows, she is also presented and perceived in black and white terms that don’t necessarily apply.
did [redacted] in Love Carousel actually [redacted] or was it by “external forces”?
The application of external forces probably had an effect, but wasn’t the direct cause. It’s tough being a k-pop.
hello, i started reading your newest book. how did you know that female public toilets tend to be really filthy if you haven’t ever worked customer service or hospitality jobs? i’ve had to clean used tampons that missed the tampon bin in during my time working in restaurants!
You don’t need to work customer service or hospitality – working in an office and listening to female employees talk to each other is enough! A place where I used to work had a few different offices from different companies all sharing one floor of a building and one set of communal toilets, poor female toilet hygiene was a routine complaint.
NERDY QUESTIONS
Hi, I found the context that was missing when I first asked this. Sorry about that. It’s not a hypothetical game.
Original question:-
I know you won’t play this, but I was wondering what you thought of the concept? It’s a GTA-like game where the combat is entirely melee focused or in a car. There’s car combat where you can total the enemy cars by ramming them. The story has the player doing missions to pay off a debt + accumulating interest. If he falls behind on payments then thugs will show up to beat him up.It’s made by Swedish. The funny thing is if it’s set in an American city then it’s really weird that nobody has any guns. I’d be interested to find out if there’s an in-game lore reason for there being no guns.
Looks boring as shit. I’m already well and truly bored of GTA games at this point, and it just really looks like a grittier GTA game. I don’t really think changing the on-foot combat of GTA matters much as the combat in GTA was always ass anyway.
can you decipher WTF is supposed to be happening in this gameplay clip? i’ve watched it twice but i still don’t know.
I guess the girls in blue dresses are the ones with the “virus” and you have to avoid them and do…. I don’t know, various stuff, without them catching you and kicking the crap out of you. So a stealth game I guess.
the execution looks good but the reviewer says it’s almost a 1:1 clone of Vampire Survivors. what would developer need to do to get you to play a clone game like this?
1. Make it not Warhammer
2. Wonho-game content
Which of these 2007 games did you play and what did you think of them?
A fair few of the PC ones.
Bioshock – an irritatingly dumbed-down System Shock 2 but still pretty good
Portal – excellent, essential gaming, only lacking in replayability
Half Life 2 Ep 2 – all the Half Life 2’s are good
Crysis – never played it at the time, checked it out only very recently. Pretty but boring.
Team Fortress 2 – fun for a while but the fast pace is exhausting
Stalker – annoyingly janky but great, the unbeatable atmosphere makes it work despite its many flaws
thoughts on game?
I’ve heard about this before and it’s been getting rave reviews but I don’t really see the appeal. Might pick it up during a Steam sale and try it one day.
game for you?
indie developed Sims competitor that’s been crowdfunded via patreon since 2019. the Sims player community have been thirsty for alternatives because of EA’s constant fuckery.
No. I never liked The Sims and I wouldn’t play a clone regardless of how much fuckery was or was not in it.
if you had been in the marketing director’s shoes, would you have approved this ad campaign? {ads for Doom 2016}
I don’t see why not. It’s just an ad campaign, its only function is to create interest in the game and let people know it exists. I’d just as soon run Doom 2016 ads showing Mary Poppins skipping through fields of flowers on her way to a picnic (intellectual property rights allowing). Who gives a shit what’s in ads, I only care what the game is like.
thoughts on soundtrack? for racing game set in Japan, Forza Horizon 6
P.S. did you know that Horizon 3 was set in Australia? they released it on PC for Windows Store but it was delisted some years due to car + music license expiry.
Thanks for telling people what’s in the link so I didn’t have to, much appreciated.
None of the music is stuff I listen to.
I was aware Horizon 3 was set in Australia, I remember playing it on a stream a while back and being impressed that they got the Australian foliage pretty much correct. Boring as piss game though, honestly I think GTA completely killed my interest in driving games because in GTA games you can drive and also do other stuff and cause chaos and being limited to only just driving after that seems lame.
@1:36 do you think this is the corniest shit? the visuals of the dude thrusting the sword in the sky. then the pro gamer nerds rise out of the ground. maybe i’d have a different opinion if i was there in person.
Yeah of course it’s corny, but I mean the entire game is corny and makes no sense from any sort of narrative perspective so what are they supposed to even do. MOBA is just a dead thing for any sort of creative tie-in, because there’s no possible real OR fictional setting where the setup of a MOBA makes any narrative sense at all. Vi and Jinx are friends? But I played as Vi last round and my opponent was Jinx! So what the fuck? Why are we shooting each other? Why do we then respawn back at base? Why do we do it all again 30 minutes later but this time Jinx is on my team? MOBA “lore” is pure power-fantasy wank with no actual meaning, simply because there are no other options. So you might as well make the visuals and music suit.
thoughts on these statistics? {veteran gamers no longer buy full price games} personally i’m not surprised because games are so expensive these days; and that AAA games of recent years have often been of worse quality, with poorer value proposition than games of past hardware generations.
You basically answered the question here for me, which saves me the bother. I appreciate it as there’s a fuckton of questions this month.
NOT QUESTIONS
I think Minx could’ve qualified as Christian horse girl music, until they made a deal with Satan when they flopped and started making demonic spider women music for the lesbians.
Probably. This isn’t a question though, so lesbian JAV of the Month is BBAN-580.
this is like the TV news equivalent of a print article saying “opinions are divided”, “idol face backlash” and their “sample opinions” are just some random social media posts? seriously, they’re making an entire evening TV news piece about some random racist woman’s video online.
do they have nothing more important that they could be reporting on? it’s like almost the entire journalism industry is robot voice kpop news Youtube shorts.
It’s best not to spread these things so I removed the link, because if you’re sharing it, it means they achieved what they wanted to achieve which was get you to share it. Anyway this isn’t a question, more of a rant, really. JAV of the month is SNOS-302.
hello, this article should explain the rise of neo-puritanism in a lot of online spaces. you can probably directly link the rise of 2010s/2020s cancel culture to this too.
Excellent article. For those who wonder why a lot of my content is the way that it is in regards to sex and sexuality, this might be a useful read. Not very puritanical JAV of the month is SNOS-211.
this {Sydney Sweeney playing an OnlyFans model in some drama or film or whatever and does things that would in reality get you banned from OnlyFans, this is ruffling feathers of actual OnlyFans models who have to cater to increasing payment processor-driven censorship} is like a redditor trying to get a gotcha, man. “well actually, they’re banned from onlyfans for violating the rules.” there’s like several other similar competitors that A. more lax, or B. cater to specific fetish. they know that a lot of ppl use name of the site as a catch all of online sex workers. why TF can’t are ppl so disingenious with arguments all of the time on social media?
Of course yes sex workers can go to other platforms, and of course I haven’t seen whatever the fuck this thing is and have no idea if it’s being strawmanned here, plus I have no idea if OnlyFans is named directly. However I think the arguments seem to have some weight, simply because payment processor censorship should be brought to light, and a drama that pretends censorship isn’t a reality for online sex workers is a drama that just missed an opportunity to be a better drama. Sex-work-friendly JAV of the month is START-120.
i read your site in class instead of doing my computer work
Eunice probably would do the same. JAV of the month is DOKS-676 but don’t look it up, get back to work you little shit lol
Sorry for hijacking this month QRIMOLE but to the question in the 2026 trufax survey about them getting disrespect from a department of their job, it’s actually much better to be hated by these mfs than be their friends tbh. Nowhere is as fake as “respect” and “friendship” within workplace. It’s better to be hated than to bend down, trying to coddle up with them, only for them to be a backstabbing bitch to you anyway as they deem you “unsuitable” for their circle (which rarely changes anyway). Besides they probably are badmouthing each other within their own group (from my experience, those “mean girls” cliques rarely have true friendship/appreciation among each other)
You could have just left a comment on that survey post instead of putting this non-question here but okay. Workplace-themed JAV of the month is DVMM-399.
Hi oppar, hopefully you still remember me (the guy that plays League with you from time to time). For the past 16 years I’ve been living in Australia Perth and I finally had enough. I am setting a one year max before I just go back permanently to Indonesia. I am struggling to get through this time period and honestly might just get up and leave at some point because I am mentally at my breaking point.
Australia (or maybe just Perth) has to be the coldest and unfriendliest place I have lived in. I have never felt so lonely in my entire life. Everyone’s very individualistic here in contrast to how ‘together’ people feel back in Indonesia. My closest friend here literally told me she doesnt want to be near me whenever I just got back from Indonesia, because she doesnt want to deal with me being homesick. I have listened to this same person’s heavier problem about her marriage (husband cheating, divorce, etc). The people here only want to be around you when you are happy, and does not want to do anything with you when you are having a hard time. I think what really cemented my disdain with people here, is when I heard a story from my friend who had cancer. She told me that most of her friends ghosted her as soon as she told them about her condition. She also told me she wanted to cry seeing my response, as I was actually trying to ask more and felt bad for her. I hung out with her whenever I could, up until she passed. She was genuinely a nice friend, and I still miss her. I just dont know what is wrong with people here. From that point on I think I just knew that if I stayed here, I will die alone.
When I went back to indonesia recently (~2 months ago), I had such a great time meeting new gay friends. I’ve never felt such a connection. I found myself a group that I instantly connect with. It was something I feel like I’ve been missing emotionally. I feel like this was my trigger for me to finally set a deadlien to go back home.
Ive also been really miserable in Perth. I’ve got nothing to look forward to, weekends and weekdays they mean the same. I’ve got no motivation to work, get angry easily when I drive. I snap at my sister and parents when I converse with them. I just became a bitter son of a bitch and I hated it. The pain is just getting too much to bear now that I dont even care anymore about the fears I used to have (lesser income, etc). I have to make the leap before I legitimately kms.
Now I’m just trying to stay here for another year due to money (invested in stocks that are down). I don’t know how long I can stay but 7 months feels like forever. I am already crying everyday and it’s only been about ~2 months.
Maybe this is just a Perth thing. I’m not sure, I’ve never been there, but people who I know who have been to Perth or grew up there didn’t like it either. It might have something to do with the fly-in, fly-out culture over there, which isn’t really like the rest of Australia, but then I haven’t been there so I can’t say for sure. Perhaps what you need to do is devise a strategy to live in Indonesia but still get the Australian money coming in. Not stock trading though, fuck that shit. Stock markets is like crypto or gambling, it’s a fool’s game. There surely has to be a way to still trade Australian stocks while overseas, it’s 2026 ffs, we have the technology. Just get out if you’re miserable is probably a good plan, but if you stay in Australia consider checking out another city. Stock trading JAV of the month is DOA-092.
Hello, kpop asshole! That’s how I call you when I mention your cool posts to my friends. They even recognize you and we both said we missed you when I finally checked your posts after a long break. I sent your texts about AAVE in kpop, on point.
I want to start by saying thank you! Thanks to you I learn about kpop that’s still good; a good song a week is too much but when I get a good song out of a month because of you, that’s already a win, today I saved Catch My Breath after reading your post. It won’t last me long but it’s good enough and I enjoy your year conclusions.
Is there any new trend? Besides being shitty, duh. Last time I checked it was all the 80s parody retro stuff (which is good, usually, I love the 80s but come on now) and newjeansification with all the same Baltimore club bullshit.I saw a post from a fan of a group I like currently and they were like “We are entering club EDM era, this is a sign of recession” and yeah, but the fuck? I didn’t notice anyone doing much except for like three songs of that group with two members who are just freaks. While I was searching for new music for my playlist I saw a person ask “Do young people still love classic trance? It seems like all they do is listen to dubstep” I’m sorry, but where are we meeting those kids, lol.
I only wish for the sort of experience we got from Sugar Free or, hell, Color Me Rad in today’s kpop.I got the sense of what an average listener listens to when I made a playlist out of my ship’s song recs for my fic and it’s R&B slop and like… that weird American pop sound I don’t want to even touch, once you hear it, you know it. Speaking of fics… how do I gain back inspiration when, thanks to my depressive disorder and growingw up I see things now for what they are? It’s not like I didn’t know but being young just wires your brain differently, and my own job troubles got me seeing kpop as a hellhole. It’s pretty compelling, honestly, to write narcissistic and vain people, I’ve never in my life actually met one because, well, I didn’t go out of home, and I don’t want to. But kills the initial vibes, kinda, though it could just be the depression and, I guess, since before I really put so much of myself, now it feels like I can’t. I’m an asshole honestly, I don’t want to help people much (that’s part of why things at work got icky), always laughed at people falling and getting hurt in those old shows on TV where they pranked for no reason, etc, etc, but I don’t truly relate to being vain and narcissistic, only extremely selfish, as people are. I don’t want to give up on that work, because it’s hard to give up things sometimes. Do I need rest or it won’t help?
Also what the hell is that sound in the beginning of this song? I interpret it as like a wooden stick being brushed against an old wooden washing board, and I’ve never heard it on their live sessions, as far as I can remember. I’ve been chasing that high ever since I first heard it, lol.
I’m desperately looking for things to live for these days, since that group obsession faded away, thinking of going on a tour next year. Don’t know if I want to go to Japan or Korea. Japan could be a door to all those cool artbooks me who likes drawing and my friends who very like drawing and animation, and Korea is the land of my oppas. But seriously, I could get a full health check up there. What do you think?
It also reminds me how I stumbled upon a random person who was living in Korea for some time and in deep-deep posts was like “Yeah, they’re doing sex work, everyone behind curtains knows”.
Speaking of Japan and sex, if all of this shit doesn’t hold up for, like, questions and answers thing, I want my porn rec to be with a dominatrix and not an old or an ugly man. Maybe something with showers. Magic mirrors? Whatever.
Have a good day, kpop asshole. I hope after I figure out my shopping addiction I can insert your books into the spendings, I remember reading a piece and I was intrigued. Keep writing and loving music!
Sincerely, a regular asshole.
This inner-soul-purge felt like more rhetorical than anything, but you definitely wanted that JAV recommendation so dominatrix-friendly JAV of the month is SQTE-669.
to the person that asked why did bts blow up. i have a answer as someone that was a fan in like 2016 to 2017 and saw them blow up in real time.
they have the perfect story. ill explain. they are a all korean kpop group who came from a small company. they did rags to riches. they have a english speaking member which allowed them to go into the western market easier. im sort of surpised that none of the other members have learnt basic english. i know they tried but im surpised they were not pushed more.
they are also men. the narritive that they are the sole group to pave the way is just women hating because blackpink have to be in that convo at least but arent because they are women and no a fully korean group.
they also won a fan war. i hate saying that nut i do think its important. bts won the war against exo. not because bts are better because they all suck but because sm treats their idols so bad that exo were never gonna win. how the fuck are exo gonna keep up if they lose half their group and bts (hype) have the perfect marketing. bts fans are just now seeing cracks but that because the group has dropped the act. due to the fact that kept it up so long a lot of fans will never leave. in short small poor bts and hybe won against the big scary sm and exo. i think it is also important to remember that hybe is just as evil and that their is no such thing as a good kpop company.
i hope this answers that question. also thanks for answering my thingy about nct and them losing members.
Thanks for this answer. JAV of the month is NAMH-064.
BEST QUESTION
Have you seen this video?
Starting at 2:29, Soyeon tries to eat a carrot and then a cucumber, and honestly it looks like an “amateur’s first time swallowing” scene, followed by an “amateur’s first time ass-to-mouth” scene.
Soyeon’s First time Swallowing Cum:
2:34: she takes the load in her mouth
2:37: she shows the load to the camera. Soyeon knows what to do.
2:43: she gulps hard and swallows the load, though it seems she’s not a fan.Starting at 2:58, Soyeon’s First time Ass-to-Mouth:
3:06-3:30: She’s working up the strength to suck on the dick that was just in her mouth, but she’s really struggling because it smells so bad. I guess this must be a niche JAV scene, which is why she didn’t enema herself clean before the shoot.
3:46-3:57: Mission accomplished. What a trooper! Smile for the camera, darling! No? Even better; in this niche, viewers get off on the authenticity!
Well I fuckin’ have now, haven’t I. I’m not quite that porn-brained that this interpretation was obvious to me, but I support your willingness to use your imagination to squeeze unlikely enjoyment out of even the most boring and mundane k-pop video content.
Thanks everyone for reading and sorry for the delayed release of this QRIMOLE, there were over a hundred questions submitted this month, I think that’s a record! I may need to start drafting QRIMOLEs progressively during the month to meet the deadline in future…
That’s all for this episode of QRIMOLE! This series will return next month!
Oh, and do you have a question that you’d like to see answered in the next episode of QRIMOLE? If so, use the question box below, or if no box appears, click the Qri on the sidebar to open the box as a separate webpage! Kpopalypse will return!

do they have nothing more important that they could be reporting on? it’s like almost the entire journalism industry is robot voice kpop news Youtube shorts.
