The three drag queens were joined by a cast of eclectic dancers as they performed a medley of pop songs including Jessie Ware’s Free Yourself and En Vogue’s Free Your Mind.

Those watching at home were loving it as one said: ‘Why isn’t this drag queen thing the UK entry this year? #Eurovision2023 #Eurovision.’

Another said: ‘THE WAY I GASPED #Eurovision.’

Another said: ‘Who does not like a Drag queen showcase at Eurovision!’

Someone else said: ‘SO good, and so powerful and necessary. THIS is what #Eurovision is all about. It’s pure, unadulterated, joy!”

Alesha Dixon and Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham brought the glamour to Liverpool on Thursday night for round two of the Eurovision 2023 semi-finals.

16 acts gathered at the city’s M&S Bank Arena to battle it out for a place in Saturday’s grand final.

And the Mis-Teeq singer, 44, and the actress, 48, pulled out all the stops as they strutted onto the stage to present the show, which aired on BBC One, alongside Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina, 32.

Alesha looked incredible in a strapless black corset dress which featured sheer mesh panelling and a dramatic train.

Hannah, meanwhile, put on a leggy display in a busty strapless yellow minidress which showcased her hourglass figure.

Hannah complemented the look with yellow pointed heels.

Julia, meanwhile, caught the eye in a blue metallic jumpsuit with puffy sleeves and stitching down the legs.

In a change to the rules this year, the decision of who goes through is entirely down to the public, with national juries being able to have their say during the final on Saturday.

31 countries will compete in two semi-finals with 10 from each going through to the final.

Last year’s winner Ukraine automatically progressed to the Grand Final, along with the big five, comprising the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

The ten acts who made it through were; Croatia, Moldova, Switzerland, Finland, Czechia, Israel, Sweden, Serbia, Portugal and Norway.

After crashing out, Ireland’s Eurovision 2023 act Wild Youth slammed the contest in a furious post after they failed to land a spot in Saturday’s final.

The group were one of five acts who were eliminated in Tuesday’s semi-final after performing their song We Are One.

In a now-deleted post, the band’s frontman Conor O’Donohoe took to Instagram to claim their country ‘were never given a chance,’ with a screenshot of the caption later shared by a fan on Twitter.

He wrote: ‘We did everything we could. Michael Kealy [RTE’s Eurovision Head of Delegation] was amazing. But the truth is they never give Ireland a chance. Sorry if we let you down, we tried our best.’

It comes as Mae Muller’s performance in the upcoming Eurovision 2023 grand final could be under threat.

The UK’s entry, 25, has been forced to go on voice rest by her vocal coach following this week’s dress rehearsals.

Updating her fans on Twitter on Wednesday, Mae shared a photo of herself wearing a ‘vocal rest’ sign around her neck.

Looking disappointed with the news she explained: ‘As someone who can not stfu if their life depended on it i’m not doing well x.’
