Vicki Michelle, 72, is ‘set to join EastEnders this month in a new casting shake up’

She’s best known for portraying French waitress Yvette Carte-Blanche in BBC comedy series ‘Allo ‘Allo!

And Vicki Michelle has reportedly swapped France for Albert Square after signing a deal to join EastEnders this spring.

The actress and presenter, 72, is thought to begin filming for the show later this month, appearing in multiple episodes.

According to The Sun, bosses at BBC are convinced that the new casting addition will be a hit with fans – causing some drama in Walford.

‘Bosses are keeping tight-lipped on her role, but she will definitely stir up some drama,’ a source told the publication.

MailOnline contacted representatives for EastEnders, who declined to comment.

Vicki is no stranger to the land of soaps, as she appeared on Emmerdale in 2007, portraying Patricia Foster, recurring as the character until 2009.

While she also spent time in the I’m A Celebrirty…Get Me Out Of Here! jungle back in 2014, being evicted fourth.

The TV star is most famous for her role in sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo!, which ran from 1982 – 1992 and was watched by millions in 60 different countries.

But last year, Vicki hit back after the TV show was slapped with an offensive warning before showing – prompting her to declare that ‘comedy is being nuked’.

Speaking on the warning decision, she said: ‘Comedy is being neutralised – or nuked. I think 80% of this country would love comedy like ‘Allo ‘Allo to be made again, so 20% might take aversion to some of the content.

‘But people eff, blind and use the c-word on telly and that’s considered fine. And on reality TV people make love under a sheet, and that’s fine. There was none of that in ‘Allo ‘Allo.

‘We stayed covered up, embraced instead of kissed and used nicknames which were used during wartime when the series was set. I don’t think there’s anything in there that would upset a normal person.’

The star also admitted that she has been advised by her 33-year-old daughter that she can’t say certain things to people anymore.

Leaving her ‘worried’ that she will upset someone when she was just trying to have a laugh.
