Claire Sweeney and Lizzie Cundy lead the glamour at the Dancing with Heroes fundraiser

Celebrities were out in force on Saturday night to pledge their support to the country’s military heroes. 

Claire Sweeney, 51, dazzled in a sequinned gown as she and a glitzy Lizzie Cundy, 54, led the red carpet glamour at the Dancing with Heroes fundraiser at the Landmark Hotel in London’s Marylebone 

The former Brookside icon looked incredible in her classic black dress, which trailed elegantly onto the floor as she posed for photographs on arrival.

Claire’s off-the-shoulder number clung perfectly to her phenomenal curves and shimmered as she moved.

The Liverpudlian actress styled her blonde tresses into gorgeous curls, and completed her stunning appearance with a red manicure and matching lip.

Former WAG Lizzie added an extra touch of Hollywood to her intricately detailed gown, with a faux fur shawl draped over one shoulder. 

The TV personality showed off her bronzed arms in the sleeveless navy blue number, which featured a sexy sheer neckline.

Guests at the fundraiser were treated to a full evening of comedy and spectacular musical entertainment.

Performances included those from 80s superstars Imagination and Sinitta, opera by Freidericke Krum, dancing from Strictly’s Robin Windsor and Joanne Clifton as well as comedy by Mike Osman famed for his uproarious Trump impressions.

Funds raised on the evening will go towards the continuance of Back on Track’s ground-breaking work to rehabilitate and resettle into society, former members of the armed forces who have been wounded, physically or psychologically.

The charity assists in the provision of medical treatment including reconstructive surgery, as well as emotional and psychological support.

The charity bash comes after Claire Sweeney admitted she would have been ‘so self conscious of her figure’ if she’d starred in All Stars Cabaret when she was younger.

The actress – who had a lead role in the raunchy burlesque show at Proud Embankment during its run – said she was ‘absolutely loving’ it and learned to ‘cares less’ about what others think.

She told MailOnline: ‘I’m absolutely loving it, it’s a fantastic show, it’s the perfect night out, you have dinner, you sit and watch the show.

‘It’s just the most phenomenal talent, I feel very proud to be a part of it. I’m in my element, absolutely in my element.’

Speaking about embracing her sexuality in a series of revealing outfits on-stage, the Brookside star said: ‘You get more sass as you get older and you kind of care less.

‘I would have been, before, so self conscious of my figure, my body, comparing myself to all the beautiful young dancers.’

The mum-of-one concluded: ‘Now I go, “There’s only one of me, who cares?”‘
